What

What

Access2Adventure is a registered community interest company, its aim is to make adventure (and all the associated personal / social / educational outcomes ) accessible to all.

Adventure has been proven to have a positive effect on children’s self-esteem and confidence levels, thereby improving their emotional health and well-being. The importance of allowing children the opportunity to be with friends, supporting each other as they step outside their comfort zones gives children the unique opportunity for them to claim their independence, make their own decisions and build new friendships.

This can be part of a residential trip, DofE Expedition or a single day, Adventure and the learning opportunities it brings can deliver  positive, long term change for young people.

However thereare significant barriers to engagement that can be related to socio-economic background as well as demographic background. For example, young people from families on low income, minoritised ethnic backgrounds, refugees or asylum seekers or with disabilities face greater barriers to accessing outdoor learning as these groups tend to have less access to appropriate green space, find costs prohibitive or lack appropriate equipment to meaningfully engage in outdoor learning experiences.

If your School / Group / Project is based around the idea of adventure but you need help with funding please contact us.
