Sadly the recent cost of living crisis combined with the financial pressures on schools to use  Pupil Premium funding in other areas of the education system means there is often less support for all pupils to take part in school trips, especially in struggling schools.

Filling this gap is vital to ensure that every child has access to the types of Adventurous experiences that  are essential in developing inter- and intra-personal skills, it is our wish that no child should miss out on these opportunities due to their socio-economic background or cuts made by the school that they are learning in.

The fund hopes to support as many young as possible so applications are limited to:

  • 1 application per school or club
  • maximum of £200 per application
  • The trip or outing needs to have an element of Adventure

Applications and the reporting requirements for this bursary and made by the trip leader on behalf of the participant, this is to minimise any barriers that might  hinder young peop

More than half (52%) of children have intentionally not told a parent about an upcoming trip – with 54% of mums and dads under the impression it was over their child’s concerns of their ability to afford it.
