Summer Adventure Camp

A2A has been working with SummerAdventureCamp Ltd to support its delivery of an OFSTED registered Holiday Camp, helping to fund and support access to this by young people who might otherwise not be able to attend, this would include:

• children assessed by the local authority as being in need, at risk or vulnerable

• looked-after children or previously looked after children

• young carers

• children with an education, health, and care plan (EHCP)

• children of families referred by EMAS,including asylum seekers and those with no recourse to public funds (NRPF).

800,000 young carers aged 5-17 care for an adult or family member in the UK. 27% of young carers aged 11-15 miss or have difficulties at school due to their caring responsibilities

The Childrens Society

Growing up should be about exploring and finding out who you are, but for many young carers who have to look after a loved one  often miss out on opportunities at school, with friends or during holidays. It can put their childhood on the back burner.

SummerAdventureCamp Ltd provides Adventurous Activity camps where young people can make friends, have fun and adventure.

1 in 3 young carers have a mental health issue
